OUR PEOPLE
Joe Hopkins, President/Partner
Growing up in a family house painting and siding business on the east coast, I somehow always knew that I would end up working in the trades because of my love for creating something with my hands. After moving to the Seattle in the early 90s, I had my hands in several trades and eventually landed in residential construction full time in 1996. I started as an apprentice and worked my way up through the ranks, ending up as a Master Carpenter with a well established company.
Within a year of becoming a Master Carpenter I was given an opportunity to try my hand in remodeling sales and project management. I took this position very seriously and made it my top priority to bring in jobs on budget, while at the same time developing a trusting relationship with each of my customers. I pride myself in the fact that over 60% of my personal business every year is repeat customers or recommendations from previous customers. Year after year I honed my skills in remodeling sales, project management and customer relationships, all the while looking towards the future of having my own company.
Prior to starting Cornerstone Construction Group I was employed by one of the most successful and respected residential remodelers in the Greater Seattle area for over 11 years While at this company, several of my projects won local, state and national awards. Although these awards were an honor I continue to realize that my greatest honor is to have a client call me for the next project on their home. To me this means that I, my team of carpenters and subcontractors are doing things right. My constant pursuit of great customer service, quality craftsmanship and leadership is what finally pushed me to start Cornerstone Construction Group.
Today, I am married to the love of my life for more than 16 years and we have 3 beautiful children. I enjoy coaching my daughter’s soccer team, grilling or smoking food on any one of my three grills and spending time at the beach with my family. All in all, relationships are what mean the most to me in life… whether it be my wife, my children, my extended family, my friendships, my customers or my customers that become friends, all of these relationships feed my soul.
